Martha Hernandez And Adrian Hernandez Obituary – Accident Death: Cherish Mother And Son Has Died In A Fatal Crash

Fresno — The Fresno community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Martha Hernandez, 41, and her 9-year-old son Adrian Hernandez, who were tragically killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 2 a.m. near the intersection of McKinley Avenue and Fresno Street. Authorities say a Dodge Durango carrying the mother and son was struck by another vehicle that reportedly ran a red light.

Police said the suspect vehicle, identified as a Honda Pilot, collided with the Durango, forcing it off the roadway and into a nearby canal. The driver of the Honda Pilot allegedly fled the scene after the crash, leaving the vehicle abandoned nearby.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and pulled Martha Hernandez from the water before transporting her to Community Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. Several hours later, rescue crews recovered the body of her son, Adrian Hernandez, from the canal.

Authorities reported that the mother and son had been returning home from a family gathering in Madera when the devastating crash occurred.

Witnesses told investigators the driver of the Honda Pilot may have been intoxicated at the time of the collision. Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are urging anyone with information to contact the Fresno Police Department.
